Submissions needed for Dream Green project PDF Print E-mail
Plans to beautify the green space opposite the shops could be on hold - unless you make yourself heard. You've got until Friday, 18 May.

Make a submission to the Hutt City Council - it's the only way to get our Green Space back on the adgenda. Get a form from the Council office or from www.huttcity.info/community-plan.

Points you may wish to mention:

- The Green Space opposite the shops is currently underused, exposed and unattractive. During winter it is boggy, but still used by parents and children walking between Cedar Street, Maungaraki School and the bus stop.

- The project has good community support - a landscape design competition attracted many good ideas from the community and formed the basis of design concepts already completed by Groundworks landscape designers.

- It has the potential to a welcoming, functional garden with sheltered places to sit, paths and attractive planting. It's situation opposite the shops means it could form an important community core and a backdrop for successful community events such as the Maungaraki Grooves.
