Mulberry St Lookout

A submission was recently made on behalf of residents at the Hutt City Council Draft Annual Plan meetings.

Council had designed a simple parking plan for the Lookout enabling up to 4 vehicles to use space currently roadside berm and this had been put on the back burner due to cost but we are in discussion with them trying to find ways to reduce the cost so that some progress can be made.

We shall keep you posted.

Plunket Rooms are no more

As previously advised the Hutt City Council has purchased the old Plunket Rooms from Plunket Society and offered them to the Maungaraki Community Assn as part of the Community Centre Complex.

We have been working with Urban Plus to hacve the windows replaced, roof repaired, gutters replaced and carpets removed and concrete floors ground and sealed.

We are about to have some new heating fitted and provide a microwave and fridge.

New sign is appreciated!

The new sign at Maungaraki Shops is most appreciated. The council came up with a number of nice ideas when the old wooden sign blew down in a gale a year ago today.
